Ninuku Arts , Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands (APY)

Situated in the remote far north-west corner of South Australia, Ninuku Arts is based at Kalka in the Tomkinson Ranges. Also servicing the community of Pipalyatjara, it is a wholly Indigenous owned and governed art centre.

An important songline for the region is the Ninu Tjukurpa after the bilby for which Ninuku takes its name.

Despite the remote location and limited working space, Ninuku artists have developed distinctive work in their commitment to the transferral of knowledge through their art practice. The strong and highly individual, loose spidery forms of senior law man and ngankari (traditional healer), Harry Tjutjuna, to the colourful and carefully layered lines of Jimmy Donegan, and the bold, circular shapes that are the familiar marks of Sandy Brumby.
