Ngayuku Ngura - Samuel Miller's solo exhibition - May 2010

Samuel Miller lives in Kalka, a community in the APY lands in SA.  Samuel's paintings depict the traditional iconography of his land that lies to the east of Kalka.  Rockholes, creeks and hills feature in his paintings all immersed in Tjukurpa (Dreaming Stories).

Nyirrpi, a community of Warlpiri speakers, is situated 160kms southwest Yuendumu and approximately 400kms Northwest of Alice Springs. Since 2005, Warlukurlangu Artists (based in Yuendumu) has been supporting the artists of Nyirrpi through an outreach program.

Warakurna is a small community situated near the Rawlinson Rangers in the Ngaanyatjarra Lands of Western Australia, approximately 330km from Uluru near the border with the Northern Territory. The paintings from Warakurna Arts are vibrant and diverse, reflecting each artist’s unique style, stories and connection to country.

This exhibition features works by Greg Peterson, Eva Nargoodah, Sonia Kurarra and Andrea Pindan, exciting new artists from Mangkaja Arts. In addition the show will feature work by more established artists who have recently experienced a resurgence in popularity.

Mangkaja Arts is based in Fitzroy Crossing, which is four hours east of Broome in Western Australia. It has been in operation for over fifteen years. Mangkaja’s artists come from four main language groups. Banuba and Gooniyandi are from the Fitzroy River area while the Wangkajunga and Walmajarri groups are from the south of the Great Sandy Desert.

Bush Dolls from the Heart - the inaugural exhbition of the Yarrenty-Arltere Artists

Yarrenty-Arltere learning centre began in 2000, as a grass roots repsonse to the chronic social distress faced by a Western Arrente community in Alice Springs. It is an intergenerational centre where adults and children work and learn side by side. The centre has enabled people to make dramatic changes to their lives and has been highly succesful in strengthening the community. The art program has been at the heart of the centre's activities. This is Yarrenyty-Arltere Artists inaugural exhibition and features beautiful limited edition etchings and whimsical soft sculptures

Warlayirti Artists and Outstation - art from art centres, are proud to present - "From Wirrimanu".

Out of the Great Sandy Desert and the home of the Kukatja comes fresh work from the new wave of Warlayirti Artists, including: Theresa Nowee, Miriam Baadjo, Graham Gordon, Brain Mudgedell, Mavis Darkie, Jimmy Tchooga, Tossie Baadjo, Frank Clancy and others.

This is the first exhibition of emerging artists from Balgo since the late eighties. It is also the first exhibition to be held at Outstation - art from art centres.
