Milingimbi Art & Culture

Situated approximately 400 km east of Darwin, Northern Territory, Milingimbi is an island community just off the coast of Arnhem Land. A number of different clan groups exist amongst the population of around 1,000 that call Milingimbi and the surrounding outstations, home. Many items made by the artists of Milingimbi (which include weavings and bark paintings) are still used for practical and, most importantly, ceremonial purposes.
